As a supporter of the Australian food industry we employee around 2,800 people and source more than 300,000 tonnes of Australian grown vegetables each year. Our Company had its humble beginnings when a young J.R. ñJackî Simplot established his one man farming operation in Idaho in 1929. Since then the J.R. Simplot Company has grown to become a multinational business, employing over 10,000 Simplot employees in 14 countries on four different continents.
The Simplot Australia story began in 1995 when the J.R. Simplot Company expanded into Australia, acquiring iconic brands like Birds Eye, Leggo's, Chiko and Edgell. Our Company has continued to grow with the addition of brands like John West, Lean Cuisine, and Five Brothers. The recent acquisition of Top Cut has allowed us to further develop our ñwhole of plateî approach and continue to build on our passion for great food, our expertise in food production and the success of our iconic brands.
