SmugMug was started in 2002 by CEO Don MacAskill, when Internet companies were collapsing. He hired his father, Chris, and together they set off to create a whole new way to bring showcase, store, share and sell digital photos online. To friends it seemed they were following their hearts into the jaws of death. But they were both hopelessly in love with the Internet and digital photography, certain they could overcome the odds against them, so dove headfirst into building a company as cutting-edge as it was warm and welcoming. Along the way the contagion spread to the rest of the family. They left their promising careers and two SmugMug MacAskills became seven. Now more than 200+ employees strong, the rest of the SmugMug team has become family too. Even our customers consider themselves part of the family. We revel in seeing their photos of weddings, newborns, athletic triumphs, travels, and other profound moments. Now the largest independent photosharing site in the world, SmugMug is unlike any other company. We're in a funky building with the best chef in the Silicon Valley, the best health insurance of any company you know, a personal trainer and amazing photos on the walls. Who gave permission to every picture of mine?

The app updates and it instantly decides to be google photos?? Who gave permission for that?? Not me. Time for me to get out

Less than perfect

It used to look pretty good on my phone app. But that's about it! I've had to delete and re-install MULTIPLE times in order to get galleries to upload or refresh. The orientation constantly switches so I have to turn my phone/iPad back and forth to get it corrected. There’s an issue with video playback. I pay for the SmugMug gallery services online but that doesn't grant me much privilege when using this app. And to top it off, they’ve made a TERRIBLE aesthetic change that doesn’t allow for customization when opening the app. No longer appropriate to use as a professional tool. Disappointing. Fix those bugs! Allow for viewer settings to be customized. Or make it WAY cheaper.

Can’t access the folder!

To let people to access your folder, you need to put a password. However the password keeps saying it incorrect even when you used simple password like 123455. It’s still doesn’t works! Contact smugmug, and nothing is solved! So disappointed!

I love Smugmug but please add these options to the iOS app

Smugmug is great! But the app is becoming tedious. Please add an option for the default layout when it opens allowing me to view my most recent albums uploaded instead of the oldest forcing me to scroll for ages as I get busier and add more albums faster all the time.
