U.S.Vision, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Refac Optical Group, is a retailer of optical products and services operating licensed departments in over 750 retail locations in 48 states and Canada, primarily in national and regional department stores and a major wholesale club. These locations include JCPenney, BJ's Wholesale Club, Meijer, The Hudson's Bay and select Sears stores. Our retail optical departments are full-service retail vision care stores that offer a wide selection of designer brands and private label prescription eyewear, contact lenses, sunglasses, ready-made readers and accessories. Also, an on-premise, independent doctor of optometry performs complete eye examinations and prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses. Our wide selection of designer and private label branded eyewear allows us to tailor our merchandise selection to meet the needs of our host store customers. We operate a single, modern optical laboratory, distribution and lens grinding facility at which we fill customer orders for prescription eyewear and maintain a central inventory of frames. Customer orders are placed at the retail stores and are transmitted into the central optical laboratory daily, where the lenses are ground, cut, finished and custom fitted to optical frames in the size and style selected by the customer. The finished eyewear is then shipped to the retail store for delivery to the customer within a few working days or overnight if express service is utilized. Since 1991, we have been a national provider of managed vision care benefits.
