We are a professional body made up of over 100,000 diverse, talented and financially astute professionals who utilise their skills every day to make a difference for businesses the world over. In 2013 members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants were consulted on the proposal to amalgamate and create a new organisation together. In October 2013 more than 54,000 members from both Institutes overwhelmingly voted in favour of creating Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. We joined forces to form a new professional body in response to the unique challenges and opportunities of todayÍs commercial environment. In the constant global battle for fresh ideas that make financial sense, todayÍs forward-looking Chartered Accountant offers the right mindset and skills. Upon completion of changes to the NZICA Act and to the Australian Royal Charter, the legal structure of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, which was approved by members, will be formally implemented _ in the meantime, we will be operating as one organisation. The capabilities of our members have placed them among todayÍs most trusted leaders in business and finance.
