This application enables optimal placement of Murata's DNT90 module assemblies in DNT-based wireless networks by continuously displaying an attached assembly's transmit quality and receive power relative to a selected parent. When the application determines that the connection is of high quality, it displays "GOOD SIGNAL". When the signal is of lower quality, it displays "WEAK SIGNAL". This application also allows the operator to scan the RF environment for the parent device that provides the most reliable connection, then connect to that device.

This application is intended to run on a 7" tablet (such as a Nexus 7) with On-the-Go (OTG) capability. The tablet's OTG capability is mandatory, since it supplies the attached DNT module assembly with its DC power and USB communications interface. The DNT90 wireless module enclosure contains a PCB that routes tablet power to the module, implements the required USB-to-serial communications interface, and provides an external antenna connection.
