Description:

Welcome to TriMet’s official mobile ticketing app! TriMet is phasing out this app. The ability to purchase tickets will end in August, 2019. You can use previously purchased tickets through December 31st, 2019. You may also exchange previously purchased tickets for Hop Fastpass value at the Pioneer Square Ticket Office located at 701 SW 6th Ave., Portland, OR 97204 M-F 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Previously purchased tickets are non-refundable.

COMMON QUESTIONS:

Q: Do I need to be connected to the internet to use the app?
You will need an Internet connection, using either data or wifi, to purchase tickets and receive the correct day code. Once the app gets this code for the day, you’ll be able to activate and use your tickets without a connection.

Q: What if my battery dies?
Just like with paper tickets, you're responsible for making sure you have a valid fare at all times, so be sure you have enough charge to last your entire trip!

Q: How do I activate a ticket?
Tap “Use” on a ticket before you board — the best time to do this is usually when you see your bus or train approaching. If you’re at a MAX station where fares are required, make sure to activate your ticket before entering the paid fare zone.

COMPATIBILITY:

iOS versions 11.0 or above (iPhone only)
An internet connection is required to download tickets but not to use them. You device must check-in once every 24 hours to receive updated information to allow you to activate or use your ticket.

Terrible app

They don't refund money when tickets disappear for no reason. I bought a ticket at 2:30 and activated it, at 3 when the bus came the ticket was gone and there was nothing to retrieve. This was not the first instance this has happened and to say the least I'm livid. I understand the fine print but Jesus drug dealers have better return policies than tri mets system

Customer Service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Just had a problem purchasing tickets so emailed and called customer service. Thanks to Andy, I found out I have several unused tickets from as far back as 2014!

Convenient for tickets, crappy for the user

The TriMet app has a mind of its own. Often times I will purchase a 30 day pass on my phone because it's more convenient, but the app will randomly delete my ticket all the time! You can recall your tickets online, but that doesn't help me when I'm already waiting at the bus stop. Then I have to spend more money for a bus ticket to work. I'd recommend just buying paper tickets or using the hop card.

Data Hog even when not in use

I used this app to buy one ticket once a year ago so I was shocked to see that it has used 608 KB of my mobile data this billing period. That's more than half a megabyte. No wonder I'm paying overage fees. Update, 2017: I went back to Portland and pulled this app up again (after updating) . Bought a day pass ten minutes to midnight and got no warning that it would expire immediately. Waste of money. Tried to contact support for help and all I got was a form letter saying there are no refunds for expired tickets when I was not asking for a refund.

Useless

This app is useless. $5 minimum for a purchase. Transit fare is $2.50. Does not compute.
Launch Services
macOS Launch Services is an API that enables a running app to open other apps or their document files, similar to the Finder or the Dock.Launch Services eliminates apps having to query the Finder to open an app, document, or URL for them. The macOS Finder itself uses Launch Services to perform such tasks. Because the Finder performs no additional processing beyond calling Launch Services, any client using Launch Services for these purposes behaves identically to the Finder.
Core Foundation Framework
Core Foundation is a framework that provides fundamental software services useful to application services, application environments, and to applications themselves. Core Foundation also provides abstractions for common data types, facilitates internationalization with Unicode string storage, and offers a suite of utilities such as plug-in support, XML property lists, URL resource access, and preferences.
Core Graphics
The Core Graphics framework is based on the Quartz advanced drawing engine. It provides low-level, lightweight 2D rendering with unmatched output fidelity. You use this framework to handle path-based drawing, transformations, color management, offscreen rendering, patterns, gradients and shadings, image data management, image creation, and image masking, as well as PDF document creation, display, and parsing.
MobileCoreServices
Use uniform type identifier (UTI) information to create and manipulate data that can be exchanged between your app and other apps and services using MobileCoreServices.
Quartz Core Framework
Allow users to browse, edit, and save images, using slideshows and Core Image filters. The Quartz Composer API supports processing and rendering graphical data and allows developers to create custom patches for the Quartz Composer developer tool. ImageKit provides user interface support for browsing, editing, and saving images, showing slideshows, and browsing and previewing Core Image filters. PDFKit is a technology that allows applications to display and manipulate PDF documents.
Security Framework

System Configuration F...
This collection of documents describes the programming interfaces of the System Configuration framework. The System Configuration framework provides functions that determine the reachability of target hosts in both a synchronous and an asynchronous manner. It also provides error detection facilities.
Core Location Framework
The Core Location framework lets you determine the current location or heading associated with a device. The framework uses the available hardware to determine the user’s position and heading. You use the classes and protocols in this framework to configure and schedule the delivery of location and heading events. You can also use it to define geographic regions and monitor when the user crosses the boundaries of those regions. In iOS, you can also define a region around a Bluetooth beacon.
Foundation Framework
The Foundation framework provides a base layer of functionality for apps and frameworks, including data storage and persistence, text processing, date and time calculations, sorting and filtering, and networking. The classes, protocols, and data types defined by Foundation are used throughout the macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS SDKs.
UIKit
The UIKit framework (UIKit.framework) provides the crucial infrastructure needed to construct and manage iOS apps. This framework provides the window and view architecture needed to manage an app’s user interface, the event handling infrastructure needed to respond to user input, and the app model needed to drive the main run loop and interact with the system.
