The Lower Mainland is a great place to live. But for some of our friends and neighbours, life is a struggle. Together, we help make sure it isnÕt. United Way has been changing peopleÕs lives for the better since 1930. Through the help of generous donors, supporters and agency partners, we help kids grow up great, help families feel a sense of belonging and make sure our neighbourhoods are safe and supportive places for everyone. Across Metro Vancouver and from the Sea to Sky corridor to the Sunshine Coast, United Way is committed to making our community better.
We focus in three main areas: building strong communities, helping kids be all they can be, and moving people from poverty to possibility.
We are a social change engine powered by strategy, research, partnerships and public support. We are leaders in our field bringing the right people together to make change, and track progress.
UWLM funds 150+ agencies throughout the Lower Mainland to deliver more than 300 programs and services.
We also manage two provincial programs. The seniors program Better at Home is funded by the provincial government. The early childhood program Success By 6 is a partnership with the Credit Unions of BC and the provincial government.
