Good app.

This app is a very big improvement with respect to the book. It is easy to make a personalized schedule in a few minutes and to take notes for each presentation. The substantial improvement that I would like to see is a search based on any of the authors and not just the first author. Other than that, great app.

Not really useful...

Had high hopes to go paperless but this was a complete flop. Ended up grabbing the newspaper each day to keep track of sessions.

On the way to a good app

The information searched for was not in one place. I want the title, the author and the room number to be listed together (as in the planner available via web). Good luck with implementing The suggestions from The users.

It grew on me

I really wanted to ditch the paper books and use this app exclusively this year. And I succeeded, so it has that going for it. But it was not without a lot of pain and heartbreak. This app has a lot of problems. It takes forever to update. It often freezes or crashes. You can't add individual posters to your schedule. If you add individual talks, it doesn't tell you the room. There are redundant "event" and "abstract" pages for almost everything, but no way to read the actual abstracts that I could find. If you pull up a whole session, the authors are not listed with the titles. Bookmarking abstracts didn't seem to actually do anything. I could go on. There are a lot of things that are unintuitive and I was only able to figure out halfway through the week. But ultimately, and with difficulty, it worked for me. I made a schedule and pulled it up when I needed to decide where to go next. I hope you can take the feedback you get and improve this for next year, because it's much better than the books.

Disappointed

This was a great app last year (2011), but is almost completely worthless this year. Go back to a good thing next year. Please.

Disapointing.

Supposedly, we have 500 members who are in the 'informatics' focus group and another 2000+ with it as a secondary affiliation. As we have people in AGU who professionally build data systems, understand the needs of the users (they actually go to these meetings and want a usable app.), I'm amazed that we have something that gives this bad of a user experience. It's not even customized to AGU (sub-track? anyone in AGU would call that a 'session') But my biggest complaint this year, even with the low expectations from last year is that when I search for authors who SHOULD be in there when I go in under 'presenting authors' and there is NO result for 'fox'. Last year, the app seemed to be a 'hey, we know the web scheduler sucked, so we put this together at the last minute to try to give you a better system, but we haven't had time to really do it right' .... this year, it's the same company and you had a YEAR to actually generate use cases, fix the user experience problems, and actually do some acceptance testing. I seriously doubt any of that was done.
