BASIS Institute of Technology & Management (BITM)was established with a vision to be a world-class IT institute in Bangladesh for the purpose of enhancing the competitiveness of the IT Sector in Bangladesh by creating a pool of qualified IT professionals and quality certified IT companies.
World Bank, through support to Hi-tech park project, has been providing support in the areas of infrastructure development, organizational development and training activities.

To be a globally recognized and trusted training and assessment institution, driven by the ICT industry for the ICT industry.

Objectives of BITM
BASIS is going to be set up with the vision of establishing a world class institute which would support the IT industry of Bangladesh by producing world class professionals. The project has the following objectives:
¥ To ensure steady supply of technical and managerial resources for the growing and evolving software and ITES industry in Bangladesh
¥ To benchmark (by skill assessment) the quality of IT graduates of different institutes and professionals working in different organizations in the country
¥ To identify and assemble global best practices in the context of operational and management issues of technological system development and deployment
¥ To initiate and coordinate research and development activities with respect to developing sustainable and appropriate localized technology solution, mainly in the focused area of e-service delivery by government and private enterprises.

Capacity of BITM :
At present, BITM has a capacity
¥ To train over 2,000 professionals (both entry level & management level)
¥ To run parallel courses in 4 equipped lab
¥ 50+ industry professionals involved with BITM to provide the world class training
