The mission of Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging (www.benrose.org) is to advance support for older adults and caregivers. Our work is accomplished by deepening the understanding of their evolving needs in a changing society; developing and delivering innovative, high-quality solutions; and promoting effective public policies.
Founded in 1908, Benjamin Rose provides direct service to older adults and their caregivers; engages in applied social research; and leads advocacy efforts in support of older adults.
The following programs and subsidiaries operate together to fulfill our mission:
Home- and Community-based services: Includes home care, adult day services, partial hospitalization, social work, mental health services and Senior Companions.
Rose Centers for Aging Well: Provides home-delivered meals, as well as hot lunches, programs and services at seven senior center locations.
Margaret Wagner Apartments: Offers supportive housing for low-income seniors.
Community Advocacy: Identifies and influences public policies that impact older adults and their caregivers.
Research and Education: Conducts applied aging studies that enhance the lives of older adults and the family members, friends, and professionals who care for them. Education and training programs promote the professional and paraprofessional growth, development, and skills of those who work in the fields of aging and health services.
Conference Center at Benjamin Rose: Includes meeting and event space ideal for lectures, seminars, corporate events, banquet meals, social gatherings and trade displays.

The SHARE app supports the Support, Health, Activities, Resources, and Education Program for persons living with dementia and their family caregivers. The SHARE for Dementia app is an easy-to-use, comprehensive resource that helps SHARE counselors focus on the SHARE partners while making the delivery of SHARE more clear, efficient, and user-friendly. The SHARE app is also designed to create an engaging, interactive experience for persons with early-stage dementia and their family caregivers. SHARE session materials are contained within the app to help counselors prepare for and conduct the First Contact Call and all SHARE sessions. Using the SHARE app, the SHARE counselor will help SHARE partners create a Plan of Care that can be maintained over time and discussed with family, friends, and service providers. SHARE counselors should feel that the app is their assistant, helping them to work with the SHARE partners to achieve the goals of the program.
