Not bad
It does what it’s supposed to with my A/C unit. no problems, very reliable. but I sure wish it worked with Homekit !

Not user friendly
My husband was able to connect the water heater to the app but I can't (and I'm the more tech savvy between the two of us). App keeps telling me that the equipment that I'm registering is tied to an account. So are you telling me that two phones can't monitor the same water heater? Not functional.

Don't waste your money
I have found that the wifi will stay connected a few days at most, then just disconnect. You must be in the rom to reset it, unlike other programs that will allow you to reset from anywhere. So a total waste of money for 2 days of the unit working. I read all the bad requires and believe it must. E operator error. I was wrong this is the one time I should of listen. Great support , but keep them on speed dial as you will be calling every couple days to reconnect

No value for water heater. Poor security.
If you want to use this with a water heater you can 1) change the set-point -- unless you can't and 2) Turn the heating elements on or off. It's too bad this isn't made at least a bit clear before you buy the network interface. If that was all I'd give it two stars but Rheem also presents a misleading description on the web site and the app has abominable practices. It must be connected the Internet, you have to have a Rheem account, you have to connect to the device as an access point, requests to change the two settings you can are slow and sometimes will stop and buffer many requests which then spew out (almost comically) and if you try to exceed a set point limit it simply repeats the warning screen over and over no matter how many times you press confirm.
This app is a poster child for how not to make an app.
By the way, the network interface I bought on 16-July-2017 was made in 2014. If I'd known that I would have stopped right there.

Love the idea but
I just had a Rheem performance platinum hot water heater installed today and it's great! Really bummed that I can't even connect the econet wifi module with the app. I continue to get "Cloud Connection Error. Unfortunately we could not create your location because the equipment failed to connect to the cloud. Please try again."
I'd love an app update to fix some of these problems. Awesome idea but needs some TLC to get it working properly.
